no, not by your means or standards,
but by HIS.

Jesus.

He adores you.
everything ABOUT you.
anytime something pains you, He cries.
when you laugh, He laughs with you.
when you claim victory, He rejoices with you.

in the middle of the night when you wake,
He's there. with you. beside you.

He never leaves.

and He wanted me to remind you just how much
you are worth, what a steep price is placed on your
soul, one that when it was discovered you could not
be with Him, you could not reconcile yourself, and
all was at a loss, separation forever was possible...

but He wouldn't have it.


when satan said, "ha! good luck! she's mine!"

He spoke up.
"NO." He declared.

"I care far too much for her."

and satan said
"what can YOU do to help HER?"

and Jesus said,
"watch."

and He came to earth.
and lived among us.
surrounded by our sin and filth.
and He was hated.
and tormented.
and never accepted.
very lonely.

then when the whole universe hung in the balance,

He knelt before the Father and simply stated,

"Your will be done."

and He was brutally beaten.

with every stroke of the whip,
every cut from the thorns,
He was thinking of you.

and as those nails drove into His holy, perfect flesh,
His heart was set on your face.
